Food and Vitamins:

Make sure your guinea pigs always have fresh hay and pellets in their cage. And of course water too. Feed your guinea pig Alfalfa hay until they are 1 year of age, then you move up to Timothy Hay. I would recommend the brand Oxbow for the hay and the pellets. Buy Vitamin C tablets instead of liquid. The pigz go CRAZY for them! Buy Oxbow Daily C. Only give them half a tablet per day.

Your Piggy's Cage:

For your Pig's cage, i highly recommend you build a C&C cage. It is so easy, and much cheaper. Go to http://guineapigcages.com/ for more information on C&C cages. Instead of bedding, use fleece. It's much cheaper and easier to clean. Try and pick brightly colored fleece, it will make the piggies popcorn! (AKA Jump up and down excitedly). Try and buy edible play tunnels for your pig. Also, make cardboard hidey huts for your pigz to stay in. Put any cage decorations that you have in the middle of the cage so your piggy has room to run around them.

Grooming:

When your piggy starts to smell bad, it might be time for a bath. Only give them a bath once a month. But no more than that, because it could get sick. We have posted a video on this topic. I bath my guinea pigs in the sink. Remember that guinea pigs can't swim. Make sure to use baby shampoo. Your pig's skin is very sensitive. Only put one small drop of shampoo. Do not use conditioner. For nail clipping, only clip the very tips of your pig's nails. If your piggy has black nails, I would recommend taking them to the vet for nail trimming, since you can't see the quick.
Caroline's tips for grooming: I recommend Johnson's head-to-toe baby wash. It's gentle for their skin and is fragrance-free. Make sure the shampoo you buy is fragrance-free because perfumes can irritate their skin. Baby shampoo or ferret(or any other small animal) shampoo are the best for healthy piggies.

Floortime!!!:

Floortime is pretty important. It gets your pigs the exercise they need! Lay some towels down on the floor, and put some toys, tunnels, veggies, hidey huts, or anything else they might like. My pigz love paper bags and newspapers.

IMPORTANT!: NEVER EVER EVEEERRR get your guinea pig a running ball or wheel (those things for hamsters). It severely damages their spine. Please Do not ignore this.
